“Harmony within creates ripples of peace without.”
— Deepak Chopra

I’m honored to share a post from my friend Shelly. She brings such a thoughtful, heart-centered approach to wellness. She has a gift for helping women connect emotional and physical balance in practical, encouraging ways.
There are seasons when nothing feels dramatically wrong, but you can tell something isn’t quite right either. Your energy shifts. Your skin reacts differently. Emotions sit closer to the surface.
It is not loud. It is subtle. But it is real.
This is a season when I began paying closer attention to the signals my body was sending. And that is where Geranium essential oil quietly became part of my daily rhythm.

I didn’t connect the dots at first, but my cold hands, reactive skin, and emotional ups and downs were all pointing to the same thing.
Nothing felt urgent enough to cause alarm. Still, I knew something was off. My skin felt more sensitive, my emotions were harder to steady, and that familiar sluggishness crept in. It was not a call for more effort. It was a call for balance.
That is when I began reaching for dōTERRA Geranium essential oil more intentionally instead of occasionally. And once I did, things started to make sense.
Geranium has a long history of use. Ancient Egyptians valued it for skin and hair care. In the Victorian era, fresh geranium leaves were placed on dining tables for beauty and even enjoyed as a fragrant garnish.
What stands out most to me is how this oil works. It does not push the body in one direction. It supports regulation. That is why it has such a wide range of benefits and can gently support multiple systems at once.

Geranium essential oil has traditionally been used to support:
Circulatory regulation
Liver and pancreas support
A healthy inflammatory response
Emotional balance
Skin clarity and tone
For anyone looking for whole-body balance, Geranium tends to meet the body where it is instead of forcing change.
As I learned more about Geranium, circulation felt like the missing link.
Healthy circulation influences energy, skin tone, inflammation, detox pathways, and even emotional steadiness. When circulation feels sluggish, the body can feel heavy. When it is supported, things begin to move more freely.
I dilute Geranium with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply it to the bottoms of my feet or lower abdomen, especially when I feel stagnant or run down. The ritual itself feels grounding, like reminding my body that it is safe to restore flow.
When circulation improves, the liver and pancreas can function more efficiently as well, which supports overall balance.
The liver and pancreas work constantly behind the scenes. They help process toxins, support digestion, and regulate inflammation and blood sugar. When they are overwhelmed, the signs often show up as fatigue, skin issues, or that lingering “off” feeling.
A few times a week, I apply Geranium diluted in Castor Oil over my upper right abdomen. It is a small practice, but it has become meaningful. It feels less like fixing something and more like partnering with my body.
Inflammation does not always appear as sharp pain. For me, it shows up as puffiness, skin sensitivity, tension, or that subtle internal heat after a stressful stretch.
Geranium has become one of my favorite oils for supporting a healthy inflammatory response. It feels steady and calming, not forceful. When I use it consistently, I notice I feel less reactive and more resilient, especially during hormonally sensitive seasons.
One of my favorite rituals is combining Geranium and Lavender in an Epsom salt bath. I mix a few drops into a cup of Epsom salt before adding it to warm water. The magnesium helps muscles relax. Lavender supports the nervous system. Geranium encourages circulation and balance.

By the time I step out, my body feels softer and calmer. It feels less like a bath and more like a reset.
Geranium is often described as a heart oil, and that description resonates with me.
It does not dull emotions. It helps steady them. During times when I feel emotionally raw or hormonally sensitive, Geranium brings me back to center.
Sometimes I diffuse it in the evening. Other times I apply one diluted drop over my heart. The shift is subtle. Less tension. More steadiness. A quieter nervous system.
Skin often mirrors what is happening internally. When circulation, inflammation, or detox pathways are stressed, it shows.
Geranium supports healthy-looking skin by encouraging circulation to the surface and helping balance oil production. I add a drop to my nighttime moisturizer or mix it with a carrier oil for targeted areas. Over time, my skin looks calmer and more even, especially during high-stress seasons.
Geranium has changed how I think about wellness.
It is not about control. It is about regulation. It is not about forcing the body into change. It is about supporting it gently and consistently.
By tending to circulation, inflammation, emotional rhythms, and detox pathways, I have learned to respond earlier to my body’s signals instead of waiting for them to become loud.

If your body has been whispering through your skin, your energy, or your emotions, Geranium may be worth exploring.
Sometimes the most meaningful shifts do not come from doing more.
They come from restoring balance and flow.
